President Donald Trump on Wednesday flexed the latest gold-embellished additions, two Cisco landline phones, to an Oval Office that’s already dripping in golden ornaments and decorations.

Trump, while flanked by travel industry executives and members of his administration, was asked about the phones by Fox NewsPeter Doocy.

“Is that a new phone?” asked Doocy of the phones set up to Trump’s left on the Resolute Desk.

“Yeah, you know who gave this to me? A phone company,” replied Trump, whose comments appeared to spark laughter in the room.

Doocy walked up to the desk with his hands behind his back, then leaned in for a closer look as Trump showed off one of the phones.

Each phone, per a snap taken by Doocy and shared by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, features a gold-colored presidential emblem and a sketch of the White House.

The buttons on the phones also sit within a gold-colored frame.

“The President,” “45,” “47,” and “Donald J. Trump” all appear in gold-colored font, as well.

The phones were seemingly added to the Resolute Desk sometime between July 13 and July 24, according to an analysis of images taken in the Oval Office in recent months.

Older phones appear in a video shared by White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino on July 21 that shows off Trump’s golden Oval Office makeover.

Critics swiftly slammed the president over the new phones on social media, including MS NOW’s Molly Jong-Fast, who, in a post to X, wrote, “Our taxes are being spent on the dumbest stuff.”

One user on the platform joked, “Liberace called. He wants his landline back.” And another declared, “This is what peak sycophancy looks like.”

It’s unclear whether the White House, Cisco and/or a third party had a part in adding the custom text and gold-colored trim to the phones.

HuffPost has reached out to the White House and Cisco for comment.
