At its Feb. 4 meeting, Energy Trust of Oregon’s Board of Directors elected new 2026 officers. With each new officer already serving as a general board member, Energy Trust thanks these members for expanding their service and leadership in these new positions:

Melissa Cribbins, president, is an attorney, former Coos County Commissioner and chief judge of the Coquille Indian Tribal Court. She previously worked for the City of Spokane, as well as the Eugene Water and Electric Board in the field of water quality. Cribbins currently resides in Coos Bay.

Eric Hayes, vice president, is the state organizing coordinator for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). With 23 years at IBEW, Hayes has served in multiple roles including recording secretary, vice president and president of Local 48. He lives in Beaverton.

Dr. Jane Peters, secretary, is a Portland-based environmental psychologist and small business owner. She is well known for her work conducting process evaluation and market research for utilities, energy agencies and nonprofits.

Thelma Fleming, treasurer, brings 30 years of experience in banking to her new officer role. Fleming, who lives in Vancouver, Washington, is a vice president and risk compliance audit professional with U.S. Bank in Portland.

Energy Trust also extends deep gratitude and appreciation to its 2025 officers for the support and guidance they provided the entire organization during our multiyear planning process: Henry Lorenzen, president (four years of service); Roland Risser, vice president (four years of service); Eric Hayes, secretary (four years of service); and Susan Brodahl, treasurer (eight years of service).

Energy Trust’s Board of Directors is a non-stakeholder, volunteer board. Members lend their unique, diverse perspectives and expertise to provide strategic and policy direction and shape Energy Trust’s plans and budgets. Members come from all parts of Energy Trust’s service area, including Southwest Washington, and have backgrounds in business, private consulting, government, utilities, trades and nonprofits.
