Ghislaine Maxwell has lost a bid to overturn her conviction for helping Jeffrey Epstein abuse girls.

US judge Paul Engelmayer said her claims were without merit and almost all were frivolous.

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in June 2022 for trafficking girls to Epstein for sex during the 1990s and early 2000s.

The 64-year-old represented herself and claimed she was the victim of a "complete miscarriage of justice".

She said information that would have exonerated her was withheld from her trial and false testimony given to the jury.

However, the judge said the claim Maxwell should be freed due to "substantial new evidence" was "demonstrably meritless".

"Maxwell's petition falls very far from the mark," Mr Engelmayer said. "There is no fact that Maxwell fairly puts in dispute that has any potential to disturb the outcome of her trial."

Epstein abused girls as young as 14 at his properties in New York, Florida, New Mexico, and on his private island, Little St James.

His death, aged 66, in a Manhattan prison cell in July 2019 was ruled a suicide and Maxwell was arrested a year later.

The US government bowed to pressure and released millions of documents on what they knew about the financier - dubbed the Epstein Files - in late 2025 and early 2026. However, many victims say justice still hasn't fully been done.

Maxwell was interviewed by deputy attorney general Todd Blanche over two days in July 2025 about various people linked to Epstein.

Among other things, the transcript showed she denied Epstein kept a client list "black book"; said she never saw Donald Trump in an "inappropriate setting"; and also denied introducing the former prince Andrew to Epstein.

Shortly after, Maxwell was moved to a minimum security prison camp in Texas.

She also appeared via video link in front of a House Oversight Committee in February this year, but invoked the Fifth Amendment - which protects from self-incrimination - and refused to answer questions.
