Biological sex isn’t difficult. It can be summed up as simply as the truism that says, “If my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle.” Yet, in Gavin Newsom’s delusional land of misfit toys, even something that basic is constantly ignored. Even worse, those who fail to acknowledge this deliberate ignorance have been punished for telling the truth.

A teacher in California lost her job for refusing to mislead students about biological sex. Now, the university system that Gavin Newsom oversees is facing a federal lawsuit for doing the same to college students.
A federal court will determine if the nation's largest public university system has been operating an unconstitutional speech regime.
It would be bad enough if any college encouraged the insanity of using pronouns, but at the University of California, they took it to extremes by actually punishing students for not complying.
Under the UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment policy, which applies to all ten campuses and every enrolled student, referring to a biological male by his biological sex is considered "verbal intimidation or hostility."
The policy prohibits the intentional or repeated use of names or pronouns that do not align with a student's asserted identity, and the complete and utter stupidity of this defiance of biology and science is inexcusable.
At this clown show of a university, “SHAPE” stands for Sexual Violence and Harassment, Anti-Discrimination, Prevention, and Education.
It instructs students that referring to someone by their birth name after they have adopted a new one is considered harassment and warns that doing so may be classified as a form of sexual harassment.
This is a public university, a supposed “cathedral of higher learning”, that is threatening students with sexual harassment for stating a biological fact.
Defending Education has filed a lawsuit against UC officials and the state’s greaseball governor, Gavin Newsom, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
All courts that have addressed compelled pronoun speech have ruled consistently, and the timing couldn’t be worse for Newsom
The group is petitioning the court to declare the entire policy unconstitutional and permanently block its enforcement.
Sarah Parshall Perry, Defending Education's vice president, was direct and succinct: "This case is bigger than pronouns."
The lawsuit targets two specific provisions: the Hostile-Environment Provision, which disciplines students for speech deemed "offensive" and "sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive," and FAQ #14 of the SHAPE training, which directly codifies the pronoun mandate.
The legal precedent for such idiocy has been well established. In 1943, the Supreme Court ruled in West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette that no government official, "high or petty,” can force a citizen to express a belief they oppose.
In 2021, the Sixth Circuit applied that principle to pronoun mandates, ruling in favor of Shawnee State University philosophy professor Nicholas Meriwether after the school sanctioned him for refusing to call a male student "she."
In that case, Meriwether won $400,000.
In 2023, the Virginia Supreme Court reinstated a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by high school French teacher Peter Vlaming, who was fired for his refusal to comply with the ridiculous. Vlaming settled for $575,000.
All courts that have addressed compelled pronoun speech have ruled consistently, and the timing couldn’t be worse for Newsom.
Only a few months ago, Newsom spoke with CNN's Dana Bash and urged his own party to be "less focused on spending an excessive amount of time on pronouns and identity politics."
Newsom is now a named defendant in a First Amendment case where precedent has already been established
Then his university system was hit with a federal lawsuit for implementing the exact kind of policy he publicly stated that Democrats needed to abandon. Newsome dug this grave by spending years instituting and defending laws that force California's public institutions to treat biological men as women.
He is now a named defendant in a First Amendment case where precedent has already been established. The Supreme Court hasn't taken a compelled speech case from a public university yet.
In March 2026, the Court issued a stay in the case of Mirabelli v. Bonta, a challenge to California's policies requiring schools to use students' preferred names and pronouns, even when that contradicts their parents' wishes. The Court found that the challengers were likely to succeed in their case.
The same legal framework in California supports what the University of California has been doing to its students.
This is insanity. For a court to have to rule on something so obvious is a grand waste of both time and taxpayer dollars; still, in leftist-run states and cities, these are the nonsensical delusions that dictate policy and undermine education.
There is no need to wonder why college students are graduating who can’t read, write, or solve eighth-grade math problems. These liberal institutions are rotting the country from the inside out by poisoning the minds of our youth.
This has to end. Republicans and conservatives have to educate those who are being misled that being the best you can be does not revolve around lying to others, because it would otherwise hurt their feelings, nor does denying reality serve any meaningful purpose.
