Daily physical training takes on new meaning after a near-fatal medical issue last year.

Now, in addition to training for self development and as an advocate and private protector, self defense and if necessary, defense of others, I now train to 'defend' past fitness by fighting to reclaim it and- surpass it.

I'm a fighter, not in a pugilistic or belligerent sense but meaning I understand battle as a metaphor for our struggle to realize potential in the face of inner and outer challenges

I'm fighting to regain my past self and retool my future self.

A lot of you are too!
