The Lindsay Clancy jury has failed to reach a unanimous verdict after seven days of deliberations. The jury has repeatedly reported that it remains deadlocked over whether Clancy is criminally responsible for killing her three children in January 2023. The deadlock followed a dramatic dispute over one juror who the defense claims is refusing to apply the court’s instructions on reasonable doubt. Judge William Sullivan declined to remove the juror. The judge has now indicated he intends to declare a mistrial, but gave the defense one hour to pursue an emergency appeal.
