Merry meet all,

Mabon is almost here. I spied pumpkins on a front porch the other day. Today I dressed my altar for Mabon, then rang a bell to awaken and transform any negative energies. I love Mabon. I’m enjoying an amazing herbal tea blend. I just visited the garden, enjoyed the fragrances of the herbs that grow in such abundance, breathed in the autumn air. I feel so good!

I plan to attend a public ritual to honor Mabon on the weekend. I want to wear my homemade green viking dress and the blue apron with it. It’s perfect. I want to bring cornbread and an offering of herbs too. I look forward to it. It’s been a while since I participated in an public pagan ritual. I will make an offering of herbs for my altar too. I will choose goldenrod, sage, thyme, rosemary, oak leaves and tie in acorns too, empower it with my intention. I love the magic of Mabon. 

I plan to conjure up a bottle of elderberry syrup to protect my health this fall. Elderberries are good for the immune system. 

I have to finish the edits on my sequel Born of Venom. It’s the sequel to my first published novella, The Cult of the Spider People. I intend to finish it today. The deadline looms near. I have to do it now. I have other projects to start too, such as returning to my herbalism studies and beginning the true crime book. 

I returned the acorns I acquired from the cemetery to dye the muslin. I felt that the acorns had served their purpose. I felt very good about returning the acorns. I didnt want them to spoil in the jar and I did accidentally take them from the grave. It was only right to return them. My mugwort has dried so I have to store the leaves in a labelled jar. The stems will dry out. I like the way they harden, good to use for stirring herbs. 

Mabon is the ideal time to focus on abundance and completion and balance. I just gathered a few fresh and fragrant herbs from the garden: oak leaves, sage, oregano, thyme and rosemary. The herbs are resting on my altar, best offering ever. 

Today I harvested the chamomile and basil. They are tender annual herbs that could not withstand a frost. The herbs are drying and when dried fully, I will store in a labeled jar. I harvested the whole plant of chamomile save for the roots.

Tomorrow I plan to attend a pagan public Mabon Ritual. I am so excited! This is a great way to celebrate Mabon. I have not been to a public event in a long time. I baked a loaf of cornbread and I plan to take a herb bundle as an offering too. I attended the ritual. It was wonderful. The entire ritual was held outdoors in the backyard of the local Universalist Unitarian church. It was and is a beautiful afternoon. clear skies and sunshine on the trees. The ritual grounded me and got me back to nature, and reminded there is more to life than computer screens. I brought the cornbread which everyone enjoyed, and the herbal offering. Everyone liked my nordic outfit. I had a great time.
