Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayNever underestimate the power of a progressive to reverse direction at the drop of a hat, and, even more impressively, insist that 'to the rear' was where they had been going the entire time.
The propensity for convenient, complete, and shameless amnesia is one of the Democratic progressive/socialist political breed's most maddening characteristics.
All it takes is them asserting a thing is so, and voila - years of evidence and battles to the contrary are gone, just like that.
They never existed.
This is what is happening in that bastion of Leftist lunacy, Massachusetts, right now.
The state's risible, AWFL governor Maura Healey, a dyed-in-the-green grifting wool climate cultist to her very bones, is finding herself in a position she's not been in before - up against a pretty aggressive and increasingly popular Republican challenger for the governor's chair.
Democratic Gov. Maura Healey remains favored for reelection in the November general election, but not as comfortably as in past surveys as Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Minogue closes the gap, according to the latest poll of Massachusetts voters.
The UNH Survey Center poll, released Thursday, recorded 54% of respondents indicating they would vote to re-elect Healey in November, compared to 38% in favor of Minogue. That marks a six-point jump for Minogue over the 32% he acquired in August, while Healey remained at steady 54%. The remaining 8% of respondents were either neutral or unsure.
She seems to have lost some of that know-it-all AWFL luster.
The poll also recorded what it describes as a “so-so” approval rating for Healey, who has struggled in numerous polls to record an approval rating above 60% in a matter of months.
...In this latest survey, Healey came out with just a 52% approval rating compared to a whopping 47% disapproval rating.
Part of what has her disapproval rating in the toilet is the cost of living in Massachusetts. This 'affordability' issue is something that Healey is directly responsible for thanks to her cultish devotion to being anti-fossil fuels and selling her state's residents' energy security out to the renewable energy lobby.
MA electricity rates are 70-80% higher than the national average, and much of that cost is driven by the natural gas that keeps the power plants New England does have operational and working.
MA is especially vulnerable to fluctuations in natgas prices because Gov Healey has restricted any new pipelines being built...
...There are approximately 1,000 miles of interstate transmission lines in Massachusetts. They are owned and operated by three companies: Algonquin Gas Transmission Company, Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, and Maritimes and Northeast Pipelines Company. Most of these lines are between twelve and 24 inches in diameter. They usually operate at pressures between 400 and 750 pounds per square inch ("psi").
In addition to gas delivered by transmission lines, Massachusetts also uses liquefied natural gas ("LNG") which is delivered by ship to the Distrigas terminal in Everett. Most of the LNG comes from Algeria and Trinidad. The LNG is shipped by truck to LNG plants in the state. It is stored at these plants for use in the winter months when demand is high.
...and any extra gas they need to see it through high-usage periods has to be shipped in as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and distributed from the ports by truck. Only two of the three port LNG facilities are operational.
...There are three import facilities in New England: the Everett LNG facility in Everett, MA; the Northeast Gateway facility offshore Cape Ann, MA; and the Neptune facility offshore Cape Ann, MA. The first two are operating; the operating license of the third is currently suspended per its own request.
Not very efficient and, as it turns out, can be exorbitantly expensive.
As can indulging in chasing NetZero goals for the climate cult. This, in the minds of MA voters, is, for the moment, somehow mostly President Trump and Republicans' fault.
...“Massachusetts and New England have been uniquely impacted by the fact that this president, who holds himself out as energy dominance and energy abundance, has pointedly gone after some of the energy sources that this region is trying to expand, and so that dissonance, coupled with the run-up in global energy prices, points the focus on the president,” Dolan said.
Massachusetts has adopted some of the country’s most ambitious climate commitments, aiming to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Just 9 percent of respondents said, though, that clean energy programs bear the brunt of the blame for high energy costs, ticking up to 16 percent among Republican voters.
That finding provides color to the larger backdrop, in which House Democrats advanced a measure earlier this year that would cut $1 billion from Mass Save, the state’s energy efficiency program funded by a charge on ratepayers’ bills, believing it to be an effective way to save customers money on energy costs. And it’s one of the few levers Beacon Hill can immediately pull to immediately lower energy bills.
But Gov. Healey is nothing if not a political animal, and in a year where she has a Republican breathing down her neck and a miserable approval/disapproval ratio, she realizes that acting as if 'affordability' mattered would be the smartest thing she could do.
In 2022, Maura Healey bragged about stopping two natural gas pipelines from coming into the state. And talked about completely dismantling the natural gas infrastructure.
She defended her statements by saying they 'were a lousy deal for ratepayers,' when, in fact, a study showed they would have saved those besieged utility customers $2.8 billion.
WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' GASLINES
Gov. Maura Healey said we do not need increased gas capacity and that electric ratepayers shouldn't foot the bill for additional pipelines.
Gov. Healey said the more cost-effective solution is to "implement cleaner, energy efficient methods."
Now Gov. Healey blames Trump. https://t.co/2OjGUJH3OB pic.twitter.com/wDSzBPgaqD
Not having coal-fired plants or pipelines, the governor solemnly intoned, were not options, but 'necessities.'
She's hoping people forget. pic.twitter.com/bQnkeG1Sxx
— Stamos916 (@Stamos916) October 2, 2026To a political creature like Healey, keeping her job also qualifies as a 'necessity,' and a subtle sh...well. Not subtle. An abrupt shift was in the works.
By October of last year, that brag was being completely forgotten as rates skyrocketed, and her line on natural gas being revised to,
'I've always been pretty clear that I've advocated for the expansion...'
The innerwebs being forever is a real bear, isn't it?
And it comes in especially handy now, when the latest, one-month-to-the-election iteration of 'I've ALWAYS been a YUGE fan of natural gas!' has, overnight, turned into a self-serving howl out to Energy Secretary Christ Wright asking:
WHERE ARE THOSE BIG BEAUTIFUL GAS PIPELINES I KEEP BUGGING YOU ABOUT?
Gov. Maura Healey is asking the Trump administration to hasten the expansion of natural gas into Massachusetts.
Healey sent a letter to U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Thursday, urging the administration to move quickly on the federal reviews and permits required for the expansion of the Algonquin gas pipeline.
The request comes about a month before the general election where energy has emerged as a central theme in her reelection campaign against Republican Mike Minogue.
“On several occasions we have discussed our mutual desire to get more U.S. natural gas into New England to reduce reliance on higher-cost imported fuel and lower costs for customers,” her letter to Wright says.
Healey lent her support last September to Eversource’s proposal to lock in more natural gas for Massachusetts, saying she sees the fossil fuel as an important part of the state’s energy mix even as her administration presses forward with longer-term climate and decarbonization goals.
During her tenure as attorney general, Healey opposed new natural gas pipeline construction.
This is hilarious and so blatantly obvious that only a stone-cold cultist would believe she'd been a gas-lover for years.
Pepparidge Farm remembers.
Gov. Maura Healey bragged about it: "Remember, I stopped two gas pipelines from coming into this state."
Now your heating bill is through the roof and she wants you to blame Trump. She blocked those pipelines herself. She said so. Proudly.
That's the left, every time. Break… https://t.co/2OjGUJGvZ3 pic.twitter.com/HiFUKBYIe2
...That's the left, every time. Break it, brag about breaking it, blame Trump.
Massachusetts families pay for her résumé every winter. In November, remember who stopped the pipelines.
And it looks like a healthy slice of Massachusetts does, too.
The governor's bald-faced gambit doesn't appear to be fooling anyone.
The same Governor Healey who fought against natural gas pipelines for years and buried her green energy fees in our bills is now writing letters to the Trump administration asking them to rush a natural gas pipeline into Massachusetts. One month before Election Day. She did not…
— Commonwealth Unity PAC (@CWUnityPAC) October 2, 2026...One month before Election Day. She did not suddenly care about our electric bills. She suddenly cared about losing her job.
David Blackmon calls it a 'campaign year confession,' because again - this was all on her watch. She's terrified that someone will look past her screaming TRUMP! to realize it.
In December 2023 her administration ordered a transition off natural gas and a carbon-neutral state by 2050.
The bill arrived on schedule.
◾️Roughly 1.4 million Massachusetts households heat with gas, and the Northeast remains one of the most price-sensitive markets in the country precisely because of the pipeline constraints she treated as a trophy.
◾️When the pipes do not get built thanks to Healey's personal blockade, the state leans on expensive imported LNG through Everett. Ratepayers eat the volatility every cold snap.
◾️Electricity prices in the state have reached about double the national average, and energy affordability is now the top household concern - while Healey runs for reelection.
On Thursday Healey wrote Energy Secretary Chris Wright @SecretaryWright asking for a “sense of urgency” on permits for Enbridge’s RARE expansion: 73,500 dekatherms a day on an existing line, aimed at a 2028 in-service date.
State regulators say it would save about 600,000 @EversourceMA customers roughly $40 million a year for a decade by displacing that foreign LNG.
She and Wright, Healey added, have “on several occasions” discussed a “mutual desire” to bring more gas into New England. She even left the door open to Project Beacon, roughly four times larger, and told him, “There may be more opportunities ahead.”
So the pipelines Healey stopped were a menace. The pipeline she wants now is an emergency. “All of the above” apparently means all of the above once the polls tighten and the heating bills land.
The molecules did not change. The politics did.
The hypocrisy literally floods Maura Healey’s personal zone, regardless of what year it happens to be.
That is all.
The rush to rewrite the memory banks is on.
The problem with rush jobs is that they're nearly always shoddy work.
Completely depends on trusting the mechanic.
This one has a terrible case of what looks to be progressive brain damage with a rocking TDS comorbidity.
