Patrick Havas arrested for attack on Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton

** There is more info on this alleged “attack.” Look for our update.

Multiple people are injured after an armed man lunged at Ohio Gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton at a campaign event at the Canfield Fair near Youngstown.

“While attending the Canfield Fair, an armed individual lunged at Dr. Acton, injuring multiple people,” Acton’s campaign said.

“Dr. Acton and Eric are grateful for the swift and decisive action of law enforcement and are praying for the recovery of those injured. This kind of violence has no place in Ohio. Dr. Acton will always stand up to the chaos, hate and vitriol that pits us against one another,” Acton’s campaign said in a statement on Sunday.

Details about the attack are unclear.

Update: The suspect has been identified as 38-year-old Patrick Havas. He will be charged with two counts of assault and one count of .

Acton’s GOP opponent Vivek Ramaswamy released a statement condemning the attack.

“Candidates should be able to meet with voters without having to worry about threats or violence. What happened today is completely unacceptable and has no place in politics, and we hope hope that no one was hurt,” said Connie Luck, Ramaswamy’s campaign communications director.

On Saturday, Amy Acton made an absolute fool of herself while chanting that Vivek Ramaswamy, a billionaire, cannot buy the state.

“You cannot buy this state! You cannot buy Ohiooooo! You can’t buy us. You can’t buy us!”

Acton desperately tried to get the room to repeat it.

“You can’t buy us! You can’t buy us in Ohio! That is the end of this.”

Acton channeled Kamala Harris and sounded drunk at Saturday’s campaign event.
