Netanyahu is expected to visit New York for the UN General Assembly in September.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Mamdani sat for an interview with the New York Times last week, where he upped the ante on a campaign promise to “arrest Benjamin Netanyahu.”
Mamdani said he’s engaged in an “active conversation” with his legal department to find out “what the prospects are” to arrest Netanyahu for war crimes when he lands in New York.
“Netanyahu belongs in The Hague,” Mamdani said, referencing Prison Scheveningen in The Hague, Netherlands, home of the United Nations Detention Unit (UNDU) and the International Criminal Court (ICC) Detention Center.

As noted by TGP’s Mike LaChance, Mamdani thinks that New York City is a separate, sovereign country and that he believes he is above federal law.
Ironically, while painting Trump as a dictator, who makes his own laws, Mamdani seeks to do the same. “What we’ve seen at the national level is a desire sometimes to write your own laws, to go outside of the bounds of legality. That’s not something we have an interest in,” Mamdani told the New York Times’s Lulu Garcia-Navarro.
President Trump did not mention Mamdani’s comments but said in a statement on Monday that Netanyahu “will not be arrested, in any way, shape, or form, while in the United States of America.”
Trump further suggested that former US Presidents are the ones who should face arrest after they “led Iran into this unprecedented SPIRAL OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION.”

Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested, in any way, shape, or form, while in the United States of America. He is fighting against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which recently killed 52,000 innocent protestors, and has spent the last 47 years killing American Soldiers, and others.
The only ones that should be arrested are the people that led Iran into this unprecedented SPIRAL OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION, something that should have been dealt with years ago, by previous Presidents! President DONALD J. TRUMP
As The Gateway Pundit reported, US Ambassador to the UN Mike Walz slammed Mamdani over the weekend, calling his comments “pure political theater,” noting that “head-of-state immunity applies” and “federal authority trumps any local mayor’s wishes.”
