When Democrats appear on TV or in podcasts lately, they are exuding confidence. They seem so sure that they are a lock to win the 2026 midterms.

Behind closed doors, it’s a different story.

Republicans have a massive fundraising advantage in this election cycle and everyone has noticed.

Democrats privately sounding alarm on GOP spending ahead of midterms

These conversations, described by two dozen Democratic sources, have become increasingly fraught in recent weeks as President Donald Trump’s political operation and other GOP super PACs have unleashed a tidal wave of spending into House and Senate battlegrounds that Democrats have been unable to match.

Democrats still feel confident they have enough money to flip the House and have a real chance at the Senate majority. But tensions are rising inside the party about its more limited pot of funds, as members and aides fear they could end up with a narrow majority that makes governing all but impossible.

Across all House and Senate races nationwide, Republicans are set to significantly outspend Democrats overall on advertising over the closing weeks of the midterms, according to data from AdImpact. Republicans have $682 million worth of ads reserved from Monday through Election Day while Democrats have $491 million.

On a related note, former Clinton adviser Dick Morris is predicting that Republicans will pick up seats.

Political strategist Dick Morris predicted Saturday that Republicans will keep control of the Senate in November and likely add one or two seats, even as Democrats target several GOP-held seats, including one in Texas.

Asked on Newsmax’s “Saturday Report” whether the money flowing into Texas would make a difference in the midterms, Morris ran through the Senate map and said he expects Republicans to hold nearly every seat they are defending.

“I think we’ll win Iowa, Ohio, Texas, Maine, and Alaska,” Morris said.

Morris said Republicans also have “an excellent chance of a takeaway” in four Democrat-held states.

In Michigan, he said he believes Democrat nominee Abdul El-Sayed is going to lose to Republican Mike Rogers. Recent polls show El-Sayed with a narrow lead.

He also pointed to Minnesota, where former NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya is the Republican nominee against Democrat Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan…

Morris also cited New Hampshire, where former Republican Sen. John Sununu faces Democrat Rep. Chris Pappas for the seat being vacated by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.

No one really knows what is going to happen in November. People just have to show up and vote.
