Louisiana Senator John Kennedy says Senate Republicans have no money budgeted to defend Texas Ken Paxton in his Senate race and is looking to President Trump for help.

“We in the Senate don’t have the money budgeted for Texas,” Kennedy said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.

”We need help from the President. The President says he has $850 million in his campaign accounts. That’s a lot of jack.”

Paxton defeated four-term RINO Sen. John Cornyn in the May Republican runoff after receiving Trump’s endorsement yet the staunch opposition of the RINO establishment.

He will face off against Democratic state Rep. James Talarico in November.

Talarico, a far-left and Presbyterian seminarian, has previously said “God is non-binary,” argued that “the Bible is silent on abortion,” and described ICE as a “secret police force.”

The Democrat also holds a substantial fundraising advantage.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings through June 30 showed Paxton’s principal campaign committee with approximately $1.8 million in cash on hand, compared with roughly $21.5 million for Talarico.

Tracking data cited by CNN showed Democrats outspending Republicans approximately $31.5 million to $4.7 million on advertising since June.

Talarico’s campaign is responsible for the majority of that Democratic spending.

Meanwhile, Paxton’s campaign had spent just over $150,000 during the same period.

The disparity follows an incredibly expensive Republican primary against Cornyn.

More than $120 million was reportedly spent on Republican advertising across both rounds, including significant spending by Cornyn-aligned groups against Paxton.

Meanwhile, the Senate Leadership Fund, which is aligned with Republican Senate leadership, had no independent-expenditure advertising planned in Texas earlier this summer.

Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. has reportedly accumulated a war chest exceeding $400 million but has yet to launch a major advertising campaign in the state.

Trump traveled to Houston on this week for an RNC fundraiser aimed at helping Paxton build up a war chest.

“We’re trying to get help from all over the country,” Paxton told .

An Emerson College poll recently showed Paxton leading by one point. The Cook Political Report currently rates the contest a toss-up.
