Troy Jackson secured the Maine Senate Democrat nomination to replace accused rapist Graham Platner after he received the majority of the delegates.
This isn’t set in stone, however, almost two-thirds of the delegates have committed to voting for Jackson, a fifth generation logger.
Jackson is backed by radical socialist Senator Bernie Sanders and made an appearance on the “Fighting the Oligarchy” tour earlier this year.

Politico reported:
Troy Jackson has effectively secured the Democratic nomination in the crucial Maine Senate race, winning the support of a majority of the state delegates who will officially nominate a candidate next weekend.
While they are not legally bound to support him, nearly two-thirds of the 601 delegates have committed to voting for Jackson at that statewide convention. Jackson dominated the county-level meetings this weekend that selected those delegates, with two rivals falling far behind — and one of them, Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, dropping out of the race partway through the process Sunday.
Earlier this month Graham Platner dropped out of the Maine Senate race amid explosive rape allegations.

The Democrats in Maine overwhelmingly voted for Platner – knowing he had a Nazi tattoo – and knowing that he sexually assaulted women he dated.
Despite Platner winning the Democrat primary fair and square, the media decided they wanted to replace him after an ex-girlfriend came forward and accused Platner of rape.
After Platner dropped out, transgender candidate Ashely Webb made his debut.
Ashley Webb’s appearance on the stage with other Maine candidates looked more like a Saturday Night Live skit starring Chris Farley (RIP).
