President Donald Trump on Monday announced what he called “the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all” for America’s 250th birthday on July 4th in the nation’s capital.

The president — in a post to his Truth Social platform — wrote that the “HUGE celebration” in Washington, D.C., would feature performances by military bands and orchestras as well as songs from his playlist, adding that there will be “none of those people that put you to sleep and constantly complain.”

“And I will deliver keynote remarks that you will not want to miss,” he went on to add.

“To conclude the program, and commemorate this Historic Occasion, I will be launching, what will be, the LARGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN HISTORY, right here in our Nation’s Capital. Do not miss it.”

In addition to the announcement, Trump used the platform to praise UFC over its bloody “Freedom 250” brawl at the White House.

He also teased the “kick off” of the Great American State Fair concert series on June 24, where Lee Greenwood is set to perform what he called the “Greatest Hit of All Time, GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.”

Several musical acts dropped out of the concert series — hosted by self-described nonpartisan organizer Freedom 250 — late last month, pointing to concerns over how the event was initially framed.

(Note: The organizer is separate from the nonpartisan, congressional body America250 that’s been charged with planning the birthday festivities since 2016.)

The July 4th “rally” marks Trump’s latest efforts to turn America’s big birthday into a partisan affair, something Deadline’s Ted Johnson argues is a contrast from Gerald Ford calling for speeches around the country’s 200th birthday to not feature “campaign code words” or any “partisan insinuations whatsoever.”
