Don Jr. was making an appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest over the weekend, when he decided to call his father and put him on speakerphone.

“He may not be here today, but I wanted to make sure he had a chance to say hi,” Don Jr. said before shouting out “Mr. President.”

Trump got on the call and told the audience, “I wanna be with you, but I’ll be with you soon.”

“And I just wanna say that nobody did more for me than Charlie, and there’s nobody better than Erika [Kirk], and you are the greatest people on Earth,” he said, before thanking the crowd and taking a dig at his son.

“I hope my son’s doing a good job representing me ― otherwise, I’ll have to say ‘You’re fired, Don. You’re fired,’” he said.

“So thank you very much and have a great day,” the president added before taking one last shot at Don Jr.

“I hope Don makes a great speech. If he doesn’t make a great speech, let me know about it, I’ll give him hell,” he added, as the audience reacted with unease and scattered applause with the remarks.

Turning Point’s AmericaFest conference had more than a few awkward gaffes.

One of the most bizarre remarks at the conference happened when rapper Nicki Minaj uttered exactly the wrong thing to say during a sit-down with Erika Kirk.

“Young men, you have amazing role models like our handsome dashing president,” Minaj said. “And you have amazing role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president.”

Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, instantly realized what a mistake she’d made, and covered her mouth with her hand.

Erika Kirk responded to Minaj’s blunder with poise, telling her, “Trust me, there is nothing new under the sun that I have not heard. So you’re fine.”
