As London‘s councils run out of space to bury the dead, a centuries-old idea for a giant pyramid four times the height of St Paul’s could be resurrected.

Seventeen local authorities will have nowhere to bury their deceased residents by 2040, a new audit by City Hall revealed earlier this month.

Three boroughs – Camden, Hackney and Tower Hamlets – have already reached capacity.
