This counter offensive is long overdue and frankly, were casualties confined only to the inner city as it was with crack cocaine, wouldn't have happened.

Mexican cartels have hit the mainstream with 'meth' (methamphetamine) and fentanyl doing to White suburbanites and rural residents what 'crack' did in neighborhoods like mine.

Integrated misery is still misery.

As a Black 'Gen Xer,' I watched Mexican drugs tear away safety and standards from my community in the 1980s and 1990s, replacing productive men as role models with counter productive parasites selling poison and shooting up our neighborhoods on behalf of masters from south of the border.

Community members who've said this carnage happened with the blessing of past presidential administrations should applaud a current one willing to take military action to address these catastrophic consequences.

Each citizen should look at this devastation, at hundreds of thousands of lives lost, at millions spent on rehab and ask themselves would they support land strikes against Mexico?

After all, Mexican cartels have been striking this land for decades, from 'the 'hood' to the heartland.
