“Late Night” host Seth Meyers did a hilarious deep dive into a weird Oval Office moment between Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, that unfolded right in front of Donald Trump last month.

During an event on drug prices, Oz was caught on camera appearing to block Kennedy from returning to his spot behind the president.

Meyers and show producer Sal Gentile came up with various explanations and analogies for the bizarre interaction during their weekly “A Closer Look: Out of Office” segment over the show’s summer hiatus.

Watch from the 17-minute mark here:

Meyers suggested it looked like something out of the sitcom “Happy Days” or an insurance ad, while Gentile likened it to a “good cop, bad cop” routine, with Oz “restraining RFK,” and Kennedy obsessing over roadkill.

“Ultimately, though, I think what it really is, is they’re like, ‘This is my turn to be in the two-shot,’” Meyers said.

“They’re both jostling to be right next to Donald Trump at all times,” Gentile agreed.

Meyers suggested that was because “they are aware that the only way Donald Trump perceives their presence is through a television lens.”

“To be in a room with Donald Trump does not matter as much as being in the two-shot with Donald Trump,” he said.

Gentile concurred, saying they “want to be seen in the two-shot with Donald Trump for Donald Trump to see them in the two-shot with him when he watches himself on Fox News, or he sees it on Truth Social, the clip, wherever it is.”

“It doesn’t matter to physically be in the room with him ’cause half the time he can’t even sense who’s there with him,” he added. Meyers pointed to Trump’s habit of appearing to nod off during public events as evidence.
